What to expect at Galway Braces
Our goal is to give you a healthy, straight and a beautiful smile that you have always wanted.
Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure that your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible.
Our team are always happy to address any questions you may have and provide you with all information that you need to determine which treatment is right for you.
1. Initial Consultation
Your first appointment will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs.
We will review your dental and medical history form and provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays, photographs, scan which will determine whether treatment is necessary and to determine when the optimal time is to commence treatment.
2. Plan
We'll provide a customised treatment plan depending on your needs and discuss all financial information, payment plans and insurance options.
3. Fitting
You are one step closer to achieving your smile! Once you have decided to proceed with treatment, your braces or aligners will be fitted within 2 to 3 months. Dr. Kavanagh, Dr. Mangan and their team will then see you every 6 to 8 weeks over the term of your treatment.
If you or your child are not yet ready for treatment, you will be added to our recall system, and we will reach out to schedule your next appointment when the time is right!
4. Regular Appointments
Once your initial consultation and fitting of brace appointments are finalised, we will see you every 6 to 8 weeks and we make that appointment at reception. It is important that you make your appointment after each visit to the surgery
Resheduling and cancellation of appointments
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling new appointments. Please phone reception at 091 582722 to do so.
We must advise you that we need to see you on a regular basis, at specific treatment intervals for an optimal treatment.
We appreciate that many patients prefer to come first thing in the morning or later in the day. These appointments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Also, there are certain procedures that are only available at specific times. Talk to our reception to get further details.
Text message reminders
We will contact you by text to remind you of your upcoming appointments. Please contact us immediately if you need to cancel / reschedule.
Please save our practice number (091 582722) in your contacts to easily recognize our calls when we try to contact you.
Visiting your Dentist during orthodontic treatment
It is important that you continue to visit your family dentist every 6 months for teeth cleaning and routine dental check ups.
